The interior of Mexico is generally quite safe. There has never been a post office, school or university shooting in this country. The "drug wars" for control of the American market rarely take place in tourist areas or involve the innocent. Stay in town or the beaches, and don't get drunk and wander the streets after midnight. Good luck and have a good time!

The interior of México is generally quite safe. We have never had a school, post office or university shooting, and most of the violence is limited to 'drug wars' for control of the lucrative American market and these rarely involve turists or turist areas. Stay in devloped areas, behave yourself and don't get drunk and wander the streets after midnight. Good luck and have a great time!
