Question

What sights can recommend to a college Writers' Guild field trip?

One of the sights we'd like to check out is City Lights Bookstore, what else would be of interest for a day trip?

You may want to check Vesuvio's, which is a bar right next to City Lights...it was where the beat folks hung out.

Are you going for a particular theme? There is a lot to see...a little more detail for what you are looking for would be helpful. Also, are you driving/on the bus/walking?

The Ferry Building in SF is a great place to visit to get inspired to write stories. In fact, Travel Writer Larry Habbeger, Editor of Traveller's Tales, takes his writing students here.

Book Passage in Corte Madera is an awesome book store that hosts several writer's conferences and is a big supporter of writers. Check out there website for more info. and visit their second store in the Ferry Building.
