What's the best hotel for $150/night in San Diego?

I want clean, nice but doesn't have to be fancy. Preferably within walking distance to stuff and doesn't have to be right on the beach.

It really depends which area of San Diego you want to be in. If you want to be near the beach, you could check out the Catamaran. I'm not sure exactly how much it is but it has a FANTASTIC location. It's right on the bay, it's beautiful inside, very relaxing and walking distance to everything the beach has to offer. The beach is on one side and the bay on the other and tons of restaurants, bars, stores, etc in the meantime. If you want anymore info let me know.

There are 2 HI Hostels in San Diego. Downtown and Point Loma. Rates range from 17.00 dorm to 84.00 family private room with ensuite bath.
The great thing about hostels is the full kitchen so that you can save money vs. restaurants.
Haven't stay at either of these but have stayed in many Hostel International hostels.
