Question
What kind of clothes should I pack for a two month study abroad trip to Buenos Aires?
This trip will be during May, June, and July, so it will be winter in Argentina. I will be living with a host family in the Belgrano barrio area and attending classes at the University de Belgrano. How warm will I need to dress? How dressy do people usually dress? I don't want to look like a student or a tourist, and I usually dress pretty sophisticated in my everyday life.

Your final sentence answers it. Argentinians have more style when it comes to dress than anyone else in South Americans. As to warmth... layering is the best. Keep in mind that the country produces world class woolens and leather goods. Shopping can be fun and economical. Looking like a student? Serious students dress seriously. You don't say if male or female. Women especially should dress with some class. It's not like US or European universities where so many choose to dress like hookers. What ever you are wearing should be clean and neat. Too many travelers think it is cool to look like a bum. The locals will merely think you are low class. Folks don't realize this as it would be considered rude to comment to someone on their dress or personal hygiene habits.
