depends where your coming from and where you plan on going. Bogota is good for starting if you want to go south. You could visit the coast then head south to medellin, cali, then head into ecuador and peru etc. I have a hostal in cali if your interested, dragonflycali@gmail.com , mail me for more info if needed when you know your route, cheers Paul

Hi Soliz ~

I am biased because I love Buenos Aires. 2 1/2 months there would be absolutely wonderful. It's really a great city with all its history and culture to experience, maybe take a few tango lessons, see a show or two. It's also a great place to use as a home base; for instance, you can take the Buquebus (ferry) from the Buenos Aires port to Colonia, Uruguay. You could spend a few days there (beautiful 16th century city), and then head to the capitol city of Montevideo for a few days, and then on to the resort city of Punta del Este. There's a beautiful highway that runs right along the water. Also, back in Argentina, spend some time in Mar del Plata as well as Pinamar, another resort town a little south of Buenos Aires. It also depends on the time of year you want to go. The resort towns are pretty dead off-season, so if you go in the winter, you might want to keep mostly to Buenos Aires for stuff to do. In the summer, a trip down to Patagonia would be great. You can find lots of information online about all of these places, and lots of them are accessible by bus or train. Also, not a bad idea to fly off to Rio in Brazil for some beach fun if you can, and also to Chile and check out the wines from that country. Argentina also has some beautiful wines, and be sure to have some dulce de leche! Lots of places sell it, but go to a Havanna coffee shop and have an alfajor with a coffee some afternoon. Try www.vrbo.com if you're looking for a place to stay for that amount of time. This is probably more answer than you'd expected, but all very good information. Have a wonderful trip!!
