Thailand & Malaysia in May/June
I am planning a trip and will be traveling in Thailand in late May and early June and will be in Malaysia early June as well. We have reservations at a resort in Phuket for a week (May 30-June 6). I have read this is rainy season and am a little worried about the weather. Does anyone have any experience traveling to Phuket at this time of year? Also we will be in Malaysia in early June and was wondering where we should go and what we should not miss out on. Is the weather in Malaysia this time of year bad for hitting up some beaches?

May & June is in fact the hot season. But there will be the occasional rain too. So it is a good time for heading to the beach at both places.
Good beaches in Malaysia are in Langkawi. You can catch a budget flight from KL. Historical places are in Melaka with Portuguese remnants from the 16th century. There are buses to take you there from KL.
