I dream of traveling around the world, volunteering, i'm 57 , hard worker, am I too old ?

I'm experienced in volunteering, I did it for 18 months before getting a position in concern Worldwide so I could get references.

It depends a lot on your mode of travel. If you can meet the USFS fitness requirement for forest fire fighting (3 miles in 45 minutes with a 45 lb. pack on your back) You should be good to go by any mode. I'm 59 so I know where you're coming from.
I do my volunteering closer to home teaching little kids to read.

That's a great initiative, you got to do it right now, or else it would end up as one of the "what ifs" in your life. I think going i for USFS fitness test is a good idea.
