Adam,

You don't mention which country you live in and that probably makes a difference. I'm from the U.S. and there was no need for an invitation to enter Poland when I visited for about two weeks in 2005. It was a very easy and informal border crossing with not even a visa that I can remember. In the old days of the Soviet Union, I used to need an invitation for Russia, Ukraine, Siberia, and that's what it sounds like you are asking. We had to get them from a sponsoring business and then provide them to the Russian Embassy with our visa application, but that's certainly not the case for U.S. citizens to visit Poland now. However, if your countrymen are asked to provide an invitation before getting a visa, then contact the people you plan to do business with and ask them to issue a Letter of Invitation. Also, the Polish Embassy can give you all information from their point as to the requirements.
