I never been to any hills station of India but last year I visited Nepal. It’s really so beautiful place. It’s just like heaven and best for trekking.
Yes, there is Shimla in HP and Mashobra just out of the town. There is also Manali, Dharamsala, Ooty, Koorg, Nainital, Bhimtaal and the list goes on.
Most of them are quaint. Within town limits they tend to be cramped(generalisation) but anything half an hour out is stunning!!
Summer is nicer to go, right now it will be raining.
the air is clean and sunsets are gorgeous.
there's a guy called Pranav who does organises tours, he took up a few friends of mine who were visiting on a trekk.

The hill stations in India are mostly in one of the following zones:
1. Himalayas - up north spanning from east to west. Each part has a different character, sometimes starkly different from one another. E.g. Kashmir and Ladakh. Two adjoined regions, one a lush feminine beauty, other excels in ruggedness.
2. Vidhyas – in the middle – low hills.
3. Western Ghats – south west. Lush.
4. North-eastern Hills
