Hey, I'm sorry that I can't help you terribly with bars, parks, and beaches in Sydney (West Aussie girl, sorry!), but I will recommend checking out the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House (I think they have fireworks or something on, but if not, go check them out any ways :P).

As for a really good Aussie Christmas Lunch Menu (here we have a large, late lunch instead of a formal dinner, usually), go for a majority of cold meats but with a few hot meats if you really want them (chicken, turkey, beef and lamb are all good), along with plenty of salads (garden/toss, potato salad, coleslaw are staples in our house), tinned fruits (peaches, pears, apricots, pineapple rings), and make sure you have christmas crackers/bonbons (the paper things you pull apart, make a little bang and have a dorky hat, a joke and a bauble inside) around the table.

I would also recommend that you have your favourite wines and beers available, plus lemonade or tonic/soda water to use as a mixer (helps to keep people from getting to drunk to quick, and makes it more of a thirst quencher than a booze).

Hope I've helped you, Smaya, and I also hope you have an Awesome Aussie Christmas!! xoxo
