CDG is on the RER B line. You can take a train into the city, and get off at Gare du Nord. It's a bit of a hike to the metro, watch for signs for La Chapelle or a 2 in a blue circle. get on the train westbound for Porte Dauphine. Get off at Blanche station.

This'll give you an interesting first impression of Paris, since you'll be coming up in the sex district around Moulin Rouge. Don't worry, it's not like there's hookers on the street or anything, just touts trying to get you to come inside to see their show.

The station is on Boulevard de Clichy. The first cross street to the west should be Rue Lepic. Take Rue Lepic north about 150m and turn right on Rue des Abbesses. This'll be a bit of a climb, so don't pack too heavy.
