Question

Can you walk between the terminals in Charles de Gaulle airport?

I've seen marvelous pictures of the various terminals of Charles de Gaulle airport. If I have a few hours layover, can I move freely between the terminals to see them myself? Or does each terminal require a proper ticket? Thanks in advance!

Depends which terminals. You can walk between some, but there is a train (monorail of sorts) and bus service between them, too. The old terminal is not accessible by walk from the new building. Gotta ride the train. Takes about 10 minutes.

You cannot walk between Terminals 1 and Terminal 2 at CDG. You need to take the shuttle bus. However, if you depart from or land in Terminal 2, you can walk between the six separate Halls i.e 2A through 2F. It takes about three to four minutes to walk from one Hall to another 2A and 2C are next to one another but 2B 2D and 2E are across from 2A and 2C.
If you're are in Terminal 2, you can also visit the now Satellite wing which is almost finished.
