We are planning to travel for sometime in South America and would like to buy a car in Brazil as I am fluent in Portuguese. However we have virtually being told that this is impossible, I find it hard to beleive, but am struggling to find andy real information..

Can a foreigner buy a second hand car?
Is the paperwork managable?
Can we take it across borders?
