Ooh, Insiders. It sounds cool, but what exactly does it mean?
We at BootsnAll believe that everyone is an expert in something - and that includes all the people who are experts in various places around the globe. Either they're residents, or they used to live there, or they visit just enough to be dangerous. However they achieved this level of knowledge, they're experts on their destinations - and the best news is that they're willing to share their expertise with you.
All you do is post a quick question, and then the Insiders for that location are notified that there's a new question awaiting their input. And posting a question is super simple - you can get as specific as a city or neighborhood with our drop-down menus, or you can ask general questions about regions. While this may sound kind of like the BootsnAll message boards, Insiders is slightly different. The questions and answers here are meant to be short and to the point, not really the "I'm going to Europe, here's my itinerary, what should I see?" kinds of questions. Insiders are here to answer the questions you can't find answers to anywhere else.
Now, while anyone can technically answer the questions on the BootsnAll Insiders page, answers from the people who are recognized as experts - the Insiders themselves - will be moved to the top and marked differently than the rest of the replies. That way you'll know where your responses are coming from and who's replying based on years of experience vs. a couple days spent in a city.
So, get registered, start browsing, and learn the best Insider travel tips before you go!
Do you know a place well enough to be an Insider? Browse your way through the regions to a destination you're an expert on, and click on the link that says "Apply to be an Insider" - then fill out our short application telling us why you should be an Insider. And FYI, we don't think anyone can really be an "expert on Asia," so try to stick to countries as your biggest geographical reference point.
